Better Parents Better Kids Weekly Newsletter Issue #19 Note From Tanis Nicole Wright Welcome to Better Parents Better Kids Newsletter #19 Hi this is Tanis. I hope you enjoyed our 5 Part Anxiety Series. In real time, it is September in Canada, my kids have just returned to school and I am just getting back into the normal routine after spending most of the summer out at the cabin with the family. Melody, co-author of our Better Parents, Better Kids e-book (http://www.betterparentsbetterkids.com/info ) and organizer for our Better Parents, Better Kids Weekly Newsletter is busy putting the finishing touches on hers and Dr. Robby's Counsellor in a Box Relationship Repair Home Study Program (http://www.counsellorinabox.com ) so we may all be busy over the next couple of weeks. However, some of the topics we will be covering in upcoming newsletters will include: 1) An update as to how my son Cameron is doing this year in school. 2) A special issue about how children often feel like outcasts if they choose to follow their authentic selves. 3) We will be having an update on how Maureen and her daughter from our 5 Part Anxiety series are doing. We recently contacted Maureen and she has been really busy at work but will be contacting us in the near future as to how her daughter is doing. In the meantime, here is how things started off, when we first sent out the full 5 part Anxiety series to Maureen and her daughter. The following is an email that we received from Maureen after we sent her the entire 5 part anxiety series: Maureen's Response: Hi Tanis, WOW!! Thank you so much for your detailed Five-part attachment on Anxiety! You are so kind as to prepare this helpful material! I also appreciate the embedded personal comments. I think you are right on when you start speaking of loss. My daughter's hair pulling started when her dad canceled her one week visit the second week of June. Then it started again when she was visiting for 2 weeks and he sent her and her sister home after one week. I am assuming this probably led to some future-tripping on her part as well. I think I have been too hard on Natasha when she make mistakes so your input on that is very helpful. I will try the relaxation exercises with her. I just love your differentiation between intuition and fear-based imagination! I think this will be very helpful because she tends to imagine that her friends do not like her. The list from "Feeling Good" will also help, as well as your "Four Staples of Life"! It is interesting that you gave the example of the ice cream cone because she has even gotten anxious when choosing between items on a menu in a restaurant. You are all awesome and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!
